Resumo: Over the years there has been noticed a consistent change in the IT world and new challenges being sighted in this area there is the need to direct all their activities with an orientation to the business. This quick IT evolution do professionals of this segment are required to specialize in one or a few technologies making it impossible to maintain an IT department with its own staff, resulting in the growth of IT outsourcing. In this sense, a simple transfer of duties and responsibilities shall not refer solely to reduce costs but add value to the services and / or products project results. The combination of the knowledge of IT project that should be hired with a proactive attitude towards this outsourcing, the dilemma becomes a challenge for the IT executive. The client and the provider must use a model with a language that turns into an instrument that will be the foundation for a successful outsourcing for both parties. Thus, client and provider must have some management model for its projects that is in tune with the IT department and the outsourced activity, so that the set of risks associated with this particular type of hiring is properly mapped to be well managed. The objective of this research is to propose a model of project management-oriented practice of outsourcing IT projects to achieve greater accuracy in goals. This study was conducted through an empirical study that can be classified as exploratory, qualitative and inductive method will be addressed through case studies. This research demonstrates that a management model of IT projects not only been found in any of the companies. All of them made adjustments based on best practices in project management, using their own models according to the reality of each company. This study demonstrated that it is possible to structure a model of project management that is adherent to outsourcing, but even so, it must be adaptable to each company, the new research suggests that this line.
