Resumo: Although the study of project management is new in the Academy, there are many subjects that can be studied about this theme and its importance has grown considerably in the last years. Despite the fact that communication is one of the most discussed factors in project management, there are few studies that propose models to improve communication in project settings. Besides that, there are few empirical studies about the communication that present tools and means that can improve it. For this reason, the main objective of this research is to propose a structured model to the betterment of communication in project settings. Based on literature review on communication and project management, it was possible to identify the critical success factors in organizational communication and to assess the communication in project management. Founded in a conceptual model, we propose new initiatives to investigate phenomenon in project settings. This project aims to suggest organizations should integrate communication in project settings s with the organizational communication in order form an structure that contributes significantly to project success. After analyzing the results of survey Q1, we propose a structured and analytical model to implement an efficient management of communication in project settings. This model should reflect the advances in administration and organizational communication. This model is evaluated in a second phase. We conducted research Q2 with renowned professionals in project management. The research question verifies the relationship between the critical success factors identified in literature of organizational communication and management of communication in project settings. We could observe that, even when organizations consider communications in project settings as part of the organization, the issues that are raised have distinct causes and cannot be evaluated in a mechanist vision of communication. The contribution of this research is the new proposed model what can allow researchers to identify and to evaluate the situations that can ease the process of communications in the organizations. The proposed model is designed for project management emphasizing in communications and integrated organizations systems (CISO). To conclude, the proposed model was evaluated by professionals who work in project management, and these professionals were selected in order to ensure the quality of the analysis. We intend to have model evaluated and proposed so we can contribute to the improvement of communication in project settings.
