Resumo: This work argues the formation of youth in the society contemporary in the scope of the pertaining to school education of average level. One searchs to understand the reality of Medium Teaching paulistano public and expectations of the youngs in relation to the school being aimed at to identify the difficulties that occur in the process of schooling of the young. They are analyzed official documents, statistics, previous studies and the proper perceptions of the students of a state school on Medium Teaching. On the basis of the concept of formation considered for Adorno (1995), we conclude that the formation of youth contemporary comes being social and culturally narrowed, conditioned the spaces and circumstances that it imposes limits. And also that the young considers the formation promoted currently for meaningless the school as inadequate and in such conjuncture develops strategies of adaptation and auto-preservation.
