Resumo: The epidemiological surveys of oral health reveal numerous injuries and sequelae in the population of the country, bringing, in contrast, public health complications. These are used to stipulate the degree of risk of a given population, making it possible to know the problem, the possible prevention methods, the formulation of programs and policies conducted to reduce the incidence of the disease. The indices that measure the degree of severity of Periodontal Disease are the Community Periodontal Index and the Periodontal Insertion Loss Index. In addition, socioeconomic factors may be directly linked to the high index of the disease. In this sense, the objective of the research was to correlate the Community Periodontal Index and factors such as income, occupation, education, head of household, age, access, Simplified Oral Hygiene Index and sanitary treatment to propose health actions and care to patients. . A total of 133 medical records were analyzed from January to July 2018, and through descriptive statistical analysis, it was observed that the patients seeking services at the University are women, aged between 31 and 59 years, white, single, with 1st and 2nd grade education incomplete, being the patient himself the largest financial responsible of the family and registered worker. The Index noted that only 20% of patients have healthy gums and statistical analyzes of the survey using the SPSS - IBM Software, correlating using the Spearman R?? statistical test, showed correlation of the CPI index with the head of household, age, IHOS and access. It is concluded that there is a need for changes in patients' oral health guidelines, as many patients still seek service due to pain, and that lack of access prevents care from being continuous and integral.
