Resumo: The main objective of this research project is to analyze if stories can contribute to the learning process of the students on 5th grade of elementary school. As main and specific objective, we can highlight the following: to observe and analyze how the students react during storytelling presentations and which possible contributions are effective; to identify the way by which the teachers use the story telling techniques. We seek to answer the following questions: Which kind of change do the students of 5th grade seem to present while listen to and take part in storytelling? In which extent, do the students use the story as a learning tool? How does this use occur? Considering the hypothesis that other ways of language also contribute to the learning process, seeking for subsidies able to establish a better connection with the teaching purpose. By this way, this resource can enable teachers to promote a better development in their practical approach during the classes. It can also allow a possible way to reflect on their own actions, as well as enabling a better observation of ideological and methodological conceptions. The research will occur in a public school located in the East Zone of the city of S??o Paulo (SP). The investigation subjects will be two teachers, one of them teaches in a ???parallel recovery project??? to students who present difficulties in learning and the other teaches to special needs students and to the students of 5th grade A. The methodology adopted will present qualitative aspect, its data collection instrument will be semi structured interview and observation, in addition to practices related to techniques of storytelling. The research will be based on the following authors: Baptista (2015), Freire (1989, 2001), Gatti (2003), Machado (2004), Tahan (1964), Vigotskii (2010) e Bohm (2011).
