This study describes and analyses the representations built by the elementary public school teachers of São Paulo in Itapevi about their motivations to choose the teaching career, their initial formation and their first years experience. Therefore, this investigation focus on the memories about formation, experiences and habitus formed during the life course of beginner teachers. The research analysed seven semi-structured interviews mediated by Pierre Bourdieu thoughts and theoretical bases for the concepts of cultural capital, classification and disqualification.Our main objective was to contribute to the reflection upon the teacher formation at the undergrad courses and upon the obstacles and innovations of the pedagogical formation. The data collected in this work revealed the fragility of those courses from the future teachers perspective, a lack of motivation and the discredit in the career due to the inflation of scholastic certification , revealing the logic of profit in Education as a market in the teacher formation courses, especially in private institutions. |
