Resumo: |
The world is undergoing a period of rapid and overwhelming changes, led mainly by the digital revolution and the integration of people and businesses through the Internet and social networks. The greater power provided by IT towards people and organizations by means of the access to information and innovations in processes, products and services, does not recognize the economic power of the rich countries and provides opportunities to all those who decide to make use of new tools for technological, economic and social development. Globalization and the increased competition between countries and companies increase the constant search for innovation and more innovation within the premises of open innovation. One factor that makes room for open innovation to bear fruits in organizations is a Technology Park. In order to obtain such results, however, it is necessary that the park holds an efficient technological intelligence. In this context, the present study is concerned with the competitive and technological intelligence system selected to the technology park, Nonagon, Technological Park of Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal which is here perceived as an organization of multiple components (resident companies) for which technical information is made available. The overall objective of this research is to characterize the process of exploration of technological information, in NONAGON, proposing contributions to the formal processes of technological forecasting consistent with the multifunctional nature of the park. To this end, this research is designed as a qualitative exploratory study using a single case. The main results have indicated that the prospecting system of information technology is recognized as an existing one, but it is not perceived as a formal system within the park. We conclude that although the organization has a global vision of a prospecting system of innovation for a multifaceted environment, in case of a technology park, the information system is still not as agile as such information is not always promptly available for instant access. |
