Resumo: |
The physical performance in obeses has become important tool in the evaluation of bariatric surgery. However, there are only a few studies evaluating field tests and quality of life in obeses. Thus, the objective of this article was: to analyze TC6' and SWT, also exploring the thoracoabdominal circumference, spirometry, measures of the respiratory muscle strenght and answers to questionnaires HAQ-20 and SF-36. 35 obeses, been 13 degree II and 22 degree III were evaluated, randomly and consecutively, in: thoracoabdominal circumference, spirometry, respiratory muscle strenght, TC6', SWT, HAQ-20 and SF-36. In the thoracoabdominal movement amplitude, a bigger mobility in the axillary level was evidenced; significant difference in the espirometry was not found. Analysin the respiratory muscle strenght, significant differences between obtained and expected measures were found. Also, it was verified significant difference between the distance walked in the SWT (282??210m in the obeses degree II and 219??119m in obeses degree III) and the respective expected distances (485??77 in obeses degree II and 456??91 in obeses degree III). Moreover, significant difference was evidenced between the distance walked in SWT (294??161) and TC6' (489??129). In the HAQ-20, a medium of 1 was found. In the SF-36, it was found medium of 48 (degree II) and 49 (degree III). The thoracoabdominal circumference is similar, being bigger in the axillary level than in the abdominal one, while there was no alterations of the espirometrics variables. The respiratory muscle strenght was inferior to the expected values. The functional capacity was lower in obeses degree III and greater in the TC6' compared to the SWT. I was also evidenced alterations of the functional capacity and quality of life in the obeses. |
