Resumo: The need to know and manage the knowledge generated in projects within organizations makes knowledge management a competitive advantage within the context of competition between companies, development of new products and services and demand for profitability in the markets in which organizations operate. One of the significant elements in this management is the tacit knowledge, existing in the projects, which is difficult to materialize, whose process of capturing and transferring this knowledge for use by the organization will be the object of study. In this context, this research adopted the objective of presenting a capture and transfer process with an emphasis on tacit knowledge to improve project management. The methodological procedures adopted are in line with the qualitative approach. As a research strategy, a focus group dynamic was applied to refine and confirm a tacit knowledge management model. In addition, to validate the proposed model, a single confirmatory case study was applied, consisting of the implementation of the knowledge management model, as well as the researcher's observation in addition to the collection and document analysis. At the end of this work, it was possible to propose a theoretical model of knowledge management with a focus on tacit knowledge that served as a basis for the construction of a methodology for implementing a model of knowledge management in order to meet the strategic objectives of corporations regarding to transform knowledge, especially tacit knowledge into a competitive advantage for organizations.
