Resumo: This thesis has as an object of research, the exercise of Philosophy from the film analysis suggested by the book Philosophizing: introduction to the Philosophy, of Maria L??cia Arruda Aranha and Maria Helena Pires Martins. It is also anchored in the proposal for the unification of the menus of the discipline of Philosophy of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Piau?? (Ifpi). The films chosen are: Socrates, Greek philosopher; Agostino d???Ippona, philosopher of the patristic school, who became bishop of Hippo; Le destin, which portrays the Arab thinker Averroes; Dias de Nietzsche em Turim (Days of Nietzsche in Turin), which is about the last months of clarity of the German philosopher; and Entre les murs, French film that deals with the daily life of a French high school education, considering the identity of the line of research that deals with Education and Philosophy, aiming at human formation. The problems of the research are as follows: how can the film awaken the problematizing spirit in the student? Are films an important element for human formation? What relationship can be established between the exercise of Philosophy and films? The research hypothesis is: the films contribute to the exercise of philosophizing during Philosophy classes. From the problems considered and this hypothesis, we present the objectives of this research: to understand the contribution of the films for the exercise of philosophizing; identify the contributions of the philosophical exercise; analyze the films indicated by the book Philosophizing: introduction to the Philosophy and philosophizing in the classroom. The theoretical framework has as reference the complex thinking of Edgar Morin, in dialogue with other authors. From this perspective, the category belonging to the complex thinking stands out: the philosophize. The research is of bibliographical and documentary nature. It privileges the analysis of the already referenced films; it shows the reconnection of the knowledge, from the dialogue between the films and the thematic axes of the book in the classes. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of films in and for human formation; it emphasizes the need of philosophy and philosophizing, relying on Morin???s thinking, for the education of students; and it presents the results of the film analysis, with a view to possible contributions to the exercise of philosophizing in high school classes.
