Resumo: |
This study examines the role of urban planning in climate change adaptation, focusing on Recife, a city facing challenges such as floods, sea level rise, and extreme weather events. These conditions compromise the population's quality of life and demand effective urban strategies. The research investigates how Recife incorporates climate adaptation measures into urban planning, highlighting progress and identifying gaps. The qualitative methodology combines the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) technique based on the PRISMA protocol, case studies, and content analysis. Based on the SLR, an analysis matrix comprising 12 categories was developed, serving as a reference for the evaluation. The results reveal significant initiatives, such as the "Plano 500" and the Local Climate Action Plan, which represent important advances. However, challenges persist, such as the absence of Sectoral Adaptation Plans and the lack of regulation for essential policies, such as the Drainage Plan and the Municipal Policy for the Promotion of Urban Agriculture. It is concluded that, although Recife has achieved remarkable progress, advancing the regulation and implementation of more robust climate policies is essential. |
