Resumo: The aim of this study was to investigate the LED effects in the repair process of the calcaneal tendinitis in malnourished rats. The malnourished was induced by diets for low protein (6% protein) in animals fed normal chow consumed (22% protein). Calcaneal tendinitis was induced in the left paw through trauma. A total of 120 rats, 60 malnourished animals (160 ± 20g) and 60 fed animals (300 ± 20g) distributed in 8 groups (n = 15 per group), 4 groups for CONTNUTRI nourished animals (control), TENNUTR (injury) LEDNUTR (lesion + LED) and DROGNUTR (lesion + Drug), and 4 groups for CONTDESN malnourished animals (control), TENDESN (injury), LEDDESN (lesion + LED) and DROGDESN (lesion + Drug), each group contained three subgroups 3 experimental periods (7, 14 and 21 days). The groups defined as Drog received treatment with diclofenac sodium 1mg/Kg/day/IP. Histopathological analyzes were performed for inflammatory cells, collagen content and immunohistochemistry for TGF-β and IL-1-β. For the treated LED groups there was a decrease in the inflammatory cells, type III collagen and IL 1-β, increased type I collagen and TGF-β. Thus, it is concluded that the low-intensity LED in the studied parameters has an effect on repair process tendinopathy (tendonitis).traumatic.
