Resumo: The present research aims collect and demonstrate the imagery content of lantern slides witch are archived in the Communication Museum of UMESP's (Methodist University of São Paulo) collection, to investigate the role of this media over the society and its importance in the work of the churches of the period, in particular, in the educational and missionary effort of the mission Protestants who have arrived in Brazil. The objective is to know better the visual culture of the Protestantism of the mission since its arrival in Brazil, and through this, know better the evangelical visual culture, in its contribution to the development of a specific Protestant religious imaginary, detailing its contribution through the analysis of 3 flashlight slides according to the iconological method of Erwin Panofsky. The importance of this theme is due to the lack of knowledge about the subject and also the still wide lack of scientific studies on the existence of a Brazilian evangelical visual culture and its characteristics. This research is connected to the area of concentration of Religion’s Languages (AU)
