The purpose of this study was to compare the angulations and torques of orthodontic brackets from different trademarks in relation to the Roth s prescription and also in relation with the recommended values from the manufacturer. It was used 150 orthodontic metalic stainless steel brackets, from upper cuspid and incisors in its prescription and evaluated through a vertical Benchtop Measuring Projector in the Metrology laboratory of Dental Morelli Ltda. After collecting the results and the application of statistical test, it was obtained that values of torque found with the Roth´s prescription was similar between the manufacturer and the cuspid angulation has been shown higher values in comparison to that proposed from the author in the manufacturer Morelli, and for the teeth 2.1 and 2.2, the increased angulation was showed on Abzil manufacturer s bracket. On comparative values of torque obtained within all manufacturers, Unitek showed greater reliability in torque values than others. For angulation, the reliability of the same manufacture was not superious when compared to the other manufacturers. It was concluded that the differences on both torque and angulation to the author values and prescription of the manufacturers studies fall within the degree of advocated tolerance by a German association of orthodontic accessories. |
