Resumo: The goal of this paper is to analyze de concepts of ‘kingdom of God’ and ‘church’ in the integral mission theology of René Padilla by a bibliographic research of the mentioned author and also of his most important theoretical counterpoint, the Church Growth Movement, mainly about its founder’s writings, Donald McGravan, in order to identify the causes that made Padilla write about this subject, demonstrating the importance that these concepts had in relation to the matters and discussions of the church’s mission theology, and also pointing to what extend his propositions show a continuity or rupture of the mainstream theology of mission. The bibliographic research will be focused on the main writings produced by René Padilla, mainly those that approach the subject of the definition of kingdom of God, and of church, and the repercussions that their relation reflects on the Latin American theologian’s formulation of integral mission theology and of other theologies of mission.
