Resumo: This work is a research about religion and education on João Amós Comenius in his work Didactica Magna. In the first chapter the historical, social, political and religious contexts are shown as well as the ideas that have influenced his thought, life and work. In the second chapter the constitution of education in the middle age is analyzed. The main velopments in education as well as the manifestations in each ovement are described, characterizing how education spread before Comenius. The third chapter offers summaries and some theological and pedagogical analyses of the work Didactica Magna are presented with the purpose of providing a transforming pedagogy, the art to teach everything to everyone . A key point is to know that salvation had education as an important human tool. Education is presented as a key means for the salvation of corrupted human beings. In this work the principles that should underpin the formation of the human being are described. The research concludes that there was an impulse for education in the thought of Comenius. However, this impulse cannot be only credited to Comenius. It should be understood together with other political, religious and cultural factors.
