Resumo: Well-being at work, perception of the supervisor s support and leadership styles are issues that have been attracting increasing attention of several researches in the field of organizational behavior in the last years. This research aimed at investigating the impact of the perception of the supervisor s support and of leadership styles on well-being at work. The construct of well-being at work in this study was represented by two dimensions: job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment. The sample was composed of 200 workers, 110 of them being women and 90 men, both single and married, from public and private companies located in the state of São Paulo. The instrument for collecting data consisted of a questionnaire composed of four scales that measured the variables: perception of the supervisor s support, leadership styles, job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment. A statistical program was employed in order to analyze the data collected. Descriptive statistics of the study variables (averages, standard deviations and bivariated correlations) and models of multivariated regressions were calculated so as to investigate the impact created by the perception of the supervisor s support and by leadership styles upon well-being at work, represented by bonds with both the job (satisfaction at work) and the organization (affective organizational commitment). The results of this study revealed that the supervisor s support has a higher impact on well-being at work in comparison to leadership styles. At the end, some considerations and recommendations will be made, highlighting the importance of well-being at work in what concerns the employees and the organizations health.
