Resumo: The organizational environment in Brazil and in the world faces many challenges, due to the deep and fast changes that occurred in the 20th century and also from the combination of development in several areas, such as economy, technology and society in general. In this context, the serious economic crisis that Brazil faces and the consequent organizations restructuring, have impacted on dismissals in the corporate market. With the reduction of formal employment and the possibility of a solid and lasting career in organizations, after the dismissal, professionals can redirect their careers by completely changing their professional roles, thus initiating an interprofession career transition. The general objective of this study, it was to analyze the coping strategies of the interprofession career transition process used by professionals in the corporate market after dismissal. For that, the main theoretical aspects related to the changes in the market and labor relations, unemployment and its effects on the worker, employability and career management were presented. As a methodological approach, it was assumed the qualitative research of the exploratory type. The research instrument adopted was the in-depth interview based on a semi-structured guide, which was conducted with six professionals that worked in administrative positions in different functional areas of the corporate market and after being dismissed changed to a interprofession career. Through the data obtained and with the theoretical support, five categories of analysis were identified: experience with dismissal, job market and employability, individual career planning, career transition experience, and support for career transition coping. The data analysis occurred through the discourse analysis and the results indicate that the new career was not planned and explored in practice before the transition, and based in the personal context and also according to other factors such as the challenges and demands imposed by a competitive labor market, possible employability gaps, dissatisfaction with the corporate market and the expectation of a new profession that could provide a better balance between personal and professional life, the participants made an interprofession career transition. The results also demonstrate that the transition process occurred in a different way (non-linear) among the participants and in this period, they faced several challenges inherent to the personal context and the demands of the professional choices that they did: emotional impacts, difficulties to return to the corporate area, lack of individual career planning, lack of financial support and social support, and feelings of uncertainty, fear and insecurity. To address these challenges, it was identified in the study that the social support was the coping resource most used by the participants during the transition process
