Resumo: |
This research aims to investigate early childhood education in East-Timor in its different historical periods and the perceptions of teachers for understanding and facing current challenges and opportunities. The reason for this investigation from a scientific point of view is the gap that exists in the research academy on the history of education in general, especially for children in the country. What motivates this investigation, beyond the enchantment for the history of this nation, specifically education, is the possibility of contributing to a study that serves as a reference in the educational field. In this research, we seeked to answer the following problematizing question: In an interface with history, how have teachers perceived the challenges and opportunities for early childhood education today? We consider the hypothesis that turning our eyes to history is a way to understand and more assertively face today's challenges. We chose the methodology of scientific research of a qualitative nature, of the descriptive type. The sources were diversified; written, oral and iconographic documents, some already existing and others that was produced in the research process. For the review of previous studies, we will consider the period from 2008 to 2018 of theses and dissertations from the digital library of the institutions that I consider most relevant to this research: a) Methodist University of São Paulo (UMESP); b) National University of East Timor; c) Capes Theses and Dissertations Library; d) Open Access Scientific Repositories of Portugal (RCAAP). The data collection instruments will be questionnaires, interviews and observation. The main references to contextualize the historical, geographical, cultural and linguistic aspects of Timor focused on the writings of the authors Cunha (2001), Thomaz (2008), Serrano and Waldman (1997), Silva (2011) and Durand (2010). In relation to the general history of education, the main authors consulted were: Aranha (1996) and Morrou (1975), in relation to the history of early childhood in East-Timor in its different periods. In addition to texts by the authors Martins (2006), Cró, Pinho (2012), Istiqomah (2014) and Hudaidah (2020), I resorted to several institutional documents; and finally, to support the issue of conceptions about the child, the main authors were: Ariès (1981) and Oliveira-Formosinho (2007). The context of this investigation involves the research spaces, Universities of Portugal, Timor-Leste and Indonesia. The expected results of this research are: a) Systematization of the History of Early Childhood Education in East-Timor; b) Understanding the perceptions of teachers; c) Short courses for teacher training; d) Scientific articles; e) Book for use as a reference in undergraduate education courses.(AU) |
