Resumo: The Epistle to the Hebrews presents in its very first verses Jesus Christ sat at the right side of God (Hebrews 1.1-4). Thus, since the beginning, Hebrews reveals the strategy of its author in expressing Jesus Christ in honorable terms. Such indications suggest the cultural environment typical of 1st century C.E. Mediterranean world, in that honor and shame exerts a pivot function in this society. The strategy of Hebrews presents the dignity of Jesus Christ and supports his readers social control before an eminent escape of the religious group. For this, the author of Hebrews makes uses of angelologic traditions widely known of the Jewish religious context of second temple period. These traditions characterize principally the glorious elements developed by Jewish religion (angels, hypostatic figures, elchizedek), that contributed for the confession of the exalted Christ of Hebrews. We have elaborated a study of History of the Compared Religions of the mediatory figures in Old Testament and Pseudepigrapha Literature writings, perceiving that these figures got more and more divine characteristics allowing the angelomorphic Christology elaboration in Hebrews 1.1-14; 2.5-18; 7.1-10. Besides, a social rhetorical approach to Hebrews guarantees clearer results concerning to the intended strategy by its author.
