Resumo: Determining the type of face is important for diagnosis and orthodontic treatment, considering that nowadays many treatment protocols use this method to individualize therapy for patients. The objective of this study was to investigate the correlation between the index and the morphology of the Face Vert Ricketts, between the morphology of the Face Index and Ratio Jarabak; also between Ricketts and Vert Jarabak Quotient. Another objective was to determine whether a correlation exists between the morphological index of the Face, Vert Ricketts and Quotient Jarabak with cephalometric: FMA, Facial axis, SN.GoGn, and Sn.Gn Ar.GoMe. The sample consisted of lateral cephalograms measurements and anthropometric variables of the face of 60 volunteers, 30 female and 30 male. Among the results showed a correlation between the morphology of the Face Index and Ricketts VERT (r = -0.42) and between the morphology of the Face Index and Jarabak Quotient (r = -0.32), considered in both cases as a weak negative correlation. In the correlation between the Ricketts VERT Jarabak Quotient and the value obtained was r = 0.61, regarded as a moderate positive correlation. There was a moderate correlation between the methods for determining the types of facial morphology Face Index and Ratio Jarabak with the cephalometric variables. As for the correlation between cephalometric variables and the method for determining the type of facial Vert Ricketts, there was a strong correlation. Based on the results we conclude that there was a weak agreement between the methods Morphological Index of the Face, Vert and Ricketts Jarabak Quotient, and suggest that further studies should be performed in order to corroborate this work to demonstrate the applicability of the anthropometric index for determining the type of face(AU)
