Resumo: This dissertation addressed the conflicts that occurred in the geographic space called "Pioneer North". The image of Bom Jesus, owned by the Pinto family, was expropriated by the vicar of the parish of the Salto do Itararé District, Father Alfredo Simon, who gathered about twenty armed men to capture this saint. In this religious conflict that took place on April 26, 1933 two people were killed: the merchant of Arraial dos Pintos, João Moreira, and the heir of Bom Jesus, José Pinto de Oliveira. The latter died months after the conflict. Around this image was created an official history and guarded by the owners of symbolic power, maintainer of order and tradition. However, the story of the Good Jesus was understood in a broader conception, because in the religious sphere a phenomenon called romanization occurred. The Catholic Church followed the Code of Canon Law of 1917, not recognizing the Code of Civil Law of the Brazilian National State. In the political sphere, the Paraná government has put in place the vacant land system. In the transport sector, the RVPRSC railroad (Paraná Santa Catarina Road Network) had been in the region since 1919. And in the meantime, new socio-cultural and economic relations were introduced in the countryside, that is, agrarian capitalism. (AU)
