Resumo: This dissertation firstly presents a background on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), filter bank multicarrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC-OQAM) and generalized frequency division multiplexing (GFDM). Secondly, it exploits the flexibility of GFDM for generating a waveform that achieves the same performance as FBMC-OQAM, named Linear GFDM. Hence, enlarging the set of waveforms that can be derived from GFDM. Finally, based on the application of the sum-product algorithm (SPA) over factor graphs, the graphical representation of Linear GFDM followed by an iterative receiver algorithm, which does not require channel equalization nor noise variance as input information, are presented. Bit error ratio (BER), power spectral density (PSD) and peak-to-average ratio (PAPR) numerical estimation considering different channel models are used for validating the performance of Linear GFDM as well as the SPA-based detection algorithm.
