Resumo: | It is proposed to discuss the improvement and implications of the cont in the treatment of the gigantic universe of data available in digital social media. For this, it is dedicated to studying a content filtering called Snooze (Soneca mode, in the Brazilian version), announced in 2017 by the Facebook social network site, which allows users to better manage the informational flows of their news feeds, hiding unwanted publications of “friends” for up to 30 days. Taking the use of the resource as an action of mediation information, as well as news about it, the objective of the research is to demonstrate the effect of “pacification of relations” on Brazilian users in view of political-ideological polarization due to the 2018 general elections in the country. To address this phenomenon as a characteristic of the new global information regime that has the Internet as a main environment, documentary research methodologies were employed, through digital news clipping, content analysis on Facebook posts and the bibliographical review of the Science Information, Social Communication, Computer Science and Political Science. It concludes if the pacification of relations has been used, among several other strategies, as a possible way to maintain the interaction between users and, thus, allowed no-interruption of informational flows, fundamental pillar for the business of social networking sites. Such “solutions” have great potential to weaken people’s democratic conscience, based on this, it is pointed out as possible paths a greater discussion about public responsibility and collaborative citizenship. |
