Project management techniques used in the control and monitoring during the projects life, in its most traditional form, taking carried out into account the triple constraint (scope, time and cost) in search of full compliance with the preliminarily baselines established in the project planning phase, whether the Information Technology (IT) or of any nature. The performance of Information Technology projects can suffer greater impact due to the high degree of complexity and because of the intangibility of them. With the increasing advancement of sustainability studies applied to various project areas, including to these IT projects, this work is focused on identifying how IT companies apply sustainability indicators in technology project management processes. The overall objective is to verify the presence of the use of sustainability indicators in IT projects in companies providing information technology services, and specific are: (i) analyze the existence of sustainability indicators in IT projects; (ii) understand the relationship of sustainability indicators with IT projects; and (iii) determine the contributions of the use of sustainability indicators in IT projects. The work approach is qualitative and exploratory, carried out through a multiple case study to apply to companies providing services in the Information Technology market. It was concluded that organizations have in fact the application of sustainability indicators at the organizational level in the management of IT projects, however, none of the discussed cases shows the presence of indicators specific to IT projects, thus only part of a general set indicators and greater to lesser intensity depending on the nature involved in project of information technology. |
