Resumo: This study investigates the difference between the voluntary work inside and outside the business environment. For this, it evaIuates how the isonomy model proposed by Guerreiro Ramos (1981), in the fieId of a new 'paraeconomic' paradigm, is used in the voluntary actions. Accord to him, an isonomy is a pIace for the realization of gratifying tasks, where its members devote themseIves to the personal deveIopment, in opposite ofthe reIations deveIoped in a business way. The contact between the members of na isonomy heIps them to decide in a collegiate way and the time for the tasks execution assumes a new shape, totally different from an economic organization. These and others categories are anaIysed by a bibIiographic search and a fieId study, besides the anaIysis of four groups of volunteers: two of them are formed by empIoyees from companies, a third one connected to a spiritualism center and the other one who works in an asyIum. The results of the questionnaires and the fieId observations were used to identify which actions are closer to an isonomy and which ones are different from the economic organization work. From this study, it can be seen that the three first groups act in an economic parameter whiIe the fourth one acts in an isonomic parameter. This constatation is evidence that the business logic interferes in other social spheres, moulds the people's actions and influences their comprehension ofthe world.
