Touring produces mutations on physical and social surroundings where it fits up. It is incontestable that, nowadays, touring must be looked upon as an important motor for development with local basis, considering the possibilities of the endogenous environment. The district of Bento Gonçalves - R. S. encloses countless factors that can be looked upon as potential atractions for touring ( climate, relief, gastronomy, culture, events, farming and industrial production, etc ... ). With these factors forming a basis, the present composition will aim at doing a scientific study of the touring phenomenon in this city, (with the priority for reception) , considering the detection of actions and activities that can produce an impulse to increment and that can contribute towards the expansion ofthe local economy. As the touring market shows a real growth all over the world ; Aware ofthe beauty of the nature, the hospitable, cheerfull and worker people of Bento Gonçalves and relating to the possibility of combining these factors in order to increase even more the economy of this district, the present composition will be set out this way. And its subject will be: 'Possibilities of economic increase helped by touring in Bento Gonçalves district'. Even so the word 'touring' appeard on 19th century . Some of its forms existed since the most ancient civilisations. However most of the people in the developed countries and a significant number in the emergent ones , have travelled for touring once or more every year. ' Thus, touring is no more a privilege for few citizens . Its existence is admited and makes up an important part of the way of life for an increasing number of people all over the world' ( Rushmann, Doris 1977) In this way, planning is essential for an equilibrated touristic development in harmony with the physical, cultural and social possibilities of the recepting regions. In a business branch like touring, submitted by swift changings of behaviours of the request, the search is a worthy implement that allows to preview and to project dispositions about the future evolution ofthe actívity. With the noted numbers forming a basis (they will show the reality as close as possible) the present composition claims to estimate equipments and services that will be necessary to attend the expectations of the touristic customers who will visit the district of Bento Gonçalves during the next years. The obtained informations of this search will contribute towards the choice of strategies that will be used by public and private organisations who will compete for the clients on the market.
