Resumo: |
Seeing that the examination of the degree of democratization of civilmilitary relations, as proposed by Barany (2012) is directly associated with the analysis of the interactions between the state and the armed forces; society and armed forces; and state and society, and also that Brazil is in solid stage of democratization, this study aim to evaluate the political influence of the Brazilian Air Force in civilian-military relations, through three aspects: (1) the analysis of the Air Force budget in relation to the Brazilians Army and Navy, from 2004 to 2014, (2) the participation of the Air Force in Executive positions, compared to the other Forces, from 2012 to 2013, and (3) the currently interaction of the Air Force with the Academy. The assumption that the Air Force has less political influence in relation to the Army and Navy was rejected because no evidence was found of policy precedence from one armed force to the others in the parameters analyzed. |
