Resumo: |
This paper is rooted on the work of the nomadic thinker Gilles Deleuze (2006). The nomadic lifestyle works on shredded thought – sedentary, on the other hand, is not apt to judge context or environments where complexity, uncertainty and chaos are predominant. The nomadic thinker is moved by the desire to give fluency to thought, a future similar to the unstable reality in which he lives, mutant, surprising and improbable. Gone are the days when we searched for stability, repetition, standards and forecasts which we could use to regulate our living, thinking and managing. The lifespan of paradigms has undergone a time contraction; it is increasingly hard to reach serene high grounds. 'Living is like riding a bicycle. To maintain balance, it is necessary to maintain movement' says Albert Einstein in a 1930 letter to his son Eduard. Management sciences observe the rise of authors who discovered that in this new context, it is more effective to shift ones perception of the world than to work to change the world. They are the thinkers of the difference, Who interpret and understand the world starting from its turbulence – in opposition to sedentary. Who extract their laws from immobility, repetition, regularity and stability, which only exist as an abstraction, an equivocated tradition. They have parted way with the classical, Cartesian representation of the world – freeing their thoughts from a 're-cognitive' role, the use of analytical tools, diagnosis, and methods such as SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis, making of thought their key creative potency generating the innovation which feed corporate success. We believe that the predominant mind model of the corporate officer can be classified as nomadic or sedentary, following Deleuze’s (2006) expressions. Furthermore, we believe that the nomadic thinker is better prepared to face the existing corporate landscape. On the first part of this dissertation we unveil the theory which sustains the hypothesis we plan to formulate. Next, we justify the elaboration of a meaningful question, the proposition of an explanation, the advancement of a hypothesis or the formulation of a Law can be as effective as an empirical research, in the effort to advance the comprehension of organizational phenomena. On the last part we present and attempt to justify our hypothesis and suggest the route to the empirical research we plan to execute in further studies. |
