Resumo: |
Nowadays many mothers all over the world work outside home. As a result, day- care centers were provided. Many investigations on the effects of day-care centers on the development of children have been done. The available data indicates that high-quality nonmaternal care does not appear to have adverse effects on the young child’s maternal attachment, intellectual development or social-emotional behavior. There is a traditional belief in our society, held by many people that women must stay home with their children. For the mother to take her child to a day-care center implicates a paintful decision. She wants to work and at the same time she doesn’t want to leave her baby. For the children mother's absence can be interpreted as a rejection and separation may cause anxiety. In this study it will be analyzed the ways the children have to express their feelings in relation to the mother’s separation especially regarding illnesses, the psychological and psychosomatic aspects involved. |
