This project is an attempt to approach the question posed by inter-relationships between human and organizational problems. The analysis is centered on the finding of the elements that provide or prevent job satisfaction in a civil service enterprise (sewage and water suply) operating in Rio de Janeiro State. The kind of organizational analysis proposed considers both the organization and the individual as systems permeable to society's characteristics. It's therefore essential to determine whether there are inter-relations among the social-economical elements, closest linked to the social structure, and the motivational elements, closest linked to the individual's and the enterprise's inner structures. Through the discussion of the results, the enterprise is given some subsidies so that it can face the complex problems risen due to environmental changes (both internal and from the outside). Some considerations have been made as to the problem of 'how much' job satisfaction can be achieved, and in the last chapter the feasibility of extending this project to the whole enterprise is discussed. |
