Resumo: |
The main aim of this essay is to clarify the implications of telling fairy tales to children at preschool age, outstanding their historical-cul tural origins and their psychopedagogical function. Based on the data obtained in the work of several authors in the fiels of history, literature, psychology and pedagogy, an analysis was made philosophy, on some topics, such as the possibility that the tales are transformed myths, the evolution or construction of the narrative of which have analogous characteristics to the initiation rites of the societies considered as 'primitive' or preletered. In this sense, they bring in their core our cultural inheritance. Furthermore, they acquire a psychopedagogical function, since they give the children at preschool age the chance to identify themsel ves with the achetypical image of the hero or heroine, as they undergo their ordeals, and to adopt a positive attitude to cope with them. The criticisms that these tales have been suffering, as their 'cruelty', the 'misrepresented and unreal' vision of the world that they would promote as per some authors that favor the rationalism, and the 'degrading and submis sive' role given to some female characters of some stories, were also discussed. This essay ends by evaluating the part that fairy tales play at the preschool context, and how the experience of telling them to the children can be enriching, in the pedagogical point of view. Based on the jungian approach, it is a research and a theoretical analysis which aims to improve, elucidate, as well as justify the role of the fairy tales in preschool education, considering their psychopedagogical and their socializing character, once the child functions gets in touch with social-cultural values which prevailed and still have echo in the contemporary social relationships. |
