The Professional Master s paper with the title Strategic Management of Higher Learning Institutions: Focus on the Expansion of Educational and Formation Centers of the Networks in the Educational Segment in Bahia, discourses about the model of management assumed by these higher learning institutions in expansion through educational poles in the modality of Distance Education and/or in educational network. With the goal of studying and explaining the management models of these organizations, classified as organization of knowledge or of learning, we use as base the theoretical method of qualitative research and the empirical method based on the collection of information and documents in locus with a specialist from the management staff. The study analyzes the scientific, family, decentralized and strategic model and the management model which best adapts itself to this new form of expansion.
