Resumo: What is the lens used by Brazilian in Post-Graduate Programs in Communication to study the relationship between the youth, communication and consumption in the last five years? What youths and consumption practices gain visibility in these studies? How they approach the dynamics, processes, logical communications characteristics of this interface? What theoretical schools, authors and methodologies have been targeted in the analysis of interactions between consumer culture and youth cultures in the field of Communication? Assuming such problems as guiding reflective, the main objective of this dissertation is to conduct the survey, systematic, theoretical and methodological analysis of PPGCOMs papers developed in Brazil, which thematize the relationship between communication, consumption and youth. We set a landmark period from 2005 to 2009, years that characterize a visible growth of the discussions on communication and consumption in the national academic scene, with the creation of the first Graduate Program in Communication directly focused to this area of research. We used the model communication research prepared by Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes and cartographic map proposed by Jesús Martín-Barbero as the main theoretical base and methodology.
