Resumo: |
This research project sought to situate the consumer habits of young adults in the 20-24 age bracket in the city of São Paulo vis-a-vis the political content available online, and what type of political actor has been evolving from the contemporary communication context and this source of consumption. Given the Foucault supposition that political actors are created from the social context in which they live, we studied the media channels accessed by these young consumers and, supported by the literature on this subject matter, we examined what type of political actor has emerged from this media consumption. An anonymous online questionnaire was conducted with these young adults, and from their answers we reflected upon the media bios in which they are inserted. The results of the field survey show that they considered themselves well-informed on political issues in a time of great effervescence in Brazil, while, at the same time, they stated that they had in social media outlets, such as Facebook, their main source of political information. From the data gathered, we concluded that these young adults are immersed in communication networks with specific characteristics that shape these political actors. |
