Farmacoepidemiologia da prescrição e dispensação de medicamentos na rede pública municipal de saúde de Patos de Minas/MG

Resumo: Promote access and rational drug use are public sector responsibilities. Omissions have important consequences to population. The objective was to analyze prescription and to evaluate the services offered by basic pharmaceutical assistance in Patos de Minas, MG. During november/2005, 1,200 prescriptions were collected in the municipal pharmaceutical assistance service. WHO prescription indicators and one patient-care indicator were used. Some inadequacies in therapeutical fulfilling and most prescribed anatomical groups of ATC classification (WHO) were calculated through percentage. Primary and secondary health attentions were worked. Global averages for consultations, was 2.1 drug per consultation, in 24.3% antibiotic and in 6.4% at least one injectable were prescribed, 47.1% had been taken care integrally, 33.3% partially and 19.6% had not been taken care of; in relation to total of drug prescribed, 66.0% had been prescribed by the generic name, 67.4% belonged to LMP, 74.8% to RENAME, 63.9% had been supplied to SUS users, in 37.3% posology had inadequacies, 27.7% had been prescribed for continuous use and for 45.8% the treatment period was graphed. In relation to prescriptions, 4.2% had not presented stamp nor prescritor registration number, 5.8% had not presented prescription date. The main anatomical groups prescribed had been: CNS: 25.7% and cardiovascular system: 16.9%. The prescription and drug supply standards can and must be improved, being preoccupying the negligence to the prescription by the generic name and the writing of posology and treatment period, probably causing clinical and economic consequences to the patient.
