Resumo: The amount of material discarded in the cities, environmental policies and income generation, encouraged the creation of associations of collectors of recyclable materials. Considering this scenario, it is proposed, as the focus of this research, the analysis of the practices carried out in an organization destined to the separation of recyclable materials. The association is an organizational type in which the agent that works in it, making the separation of the recyclable material, also assumes the position of manager of the same enterprise. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze how this individual, possessing these two competences: worker and administrator, performs the organizational practices that make and maintain the association in operation according to the scientific parameters presented by the Administration. The relevance of this research is to broaden the scope of administration and its theories, making science dialogue with organizations that are little studied, revealing the invisibilities that occur in daily life. The theoretical framework is based on the approaches of Spink, Smircich, Sato and Certeau, which allow to understand organization according to an interpretative perspective: the organization formed by practices, gestures, speeches, permeated by artifacts with meanings and meanings given by the actors themselves. Reading this set tells what the organization is. To make the theoretical framework more didactic, it was decided to include a historicallegal trajectory of these organizations. Methodologically, the field of research was achieved through visits, interviews and activities carried out with members. The data obtained came from the observations of the researcher, from the participation in activities, from listening to the communication and seeing the gestures performed by the actors and, following, the accomplishment of the analysis of this orality and gestures captured. The research concluded that the daily organizational is the creator of creative practices for the solution of specific demands, as well as how the taster works and manages their activity. In view of the particularities of the field, it was difficult to understand several of the proper terms used by the scavengers, but they were healed by the coexistence in that place. Finally, future research possibilities are presented in the area of organizational practices due to the results obtained as well as the limitations verified in this research.
