This study intends to evaluate the dietary-nutritional and antropometric profiles of HIV-positive pregnant women and pregnant women affected by Aids and their relation to he newly-born profile concerning his birth condition. The pregnant women were evaluated concerning the antropometric, discussed concerning the index of corporal mass in relation to the pregnancy age and to the ingestion of nutrients, discussed according to the nutritional requirements. Among the four pregnant women evaluated, two were considered suitable, with proper weight gaining during pregnancy, presented calorific consumption above the required, being one of them with a low consumption of simple carbohydrate and the other two with excess of simple carbohydrate. One of the two pregnant women was considered obese and the other in state of obesity, with weight gaining above the recommended level for pregnancy, and in both cases the calorific consumption was above the required level and with excess of lipids and proteins. Only two newly-born were evaluated, and it was observed a proper weight for the pregnancy age, although they presented weight and height below the minimum limit of the Health Office, which suggests that HIV-positive pregnant women or affected by Aids should receive nutritional attention so that they can have babies in better health conditions, which will certainly give better conditions to face the possible vertical contamination the babies had been exposed.
