The sporting fishing is an activity of important leisure in Brazil producing resources and with many apprentices due to the biodiversity of fishes and of environments for his practice. However, the bad management of the sector can produce problems of a form more accented than other kinds of fishing, so the followers access habitats considered critical for several sorts of fishes. The study carried out the scientometrics of articles on sporting fishing when they were indexed in the Web of Science, considering only 20 magazines of bigger impact on the subject. The analysis made possible to identify the principal subjects boarded by the countries that carry out inquiries on the sector. Four towns that were representing the sceneries of the sporting Brazilian fishing were visited and compared aiming to value the model of management of the wrapped resources. The sporting fishermen of the city of Curitiba/PR were interviewed aiming to identify the characteristics of the apprentices of sporting fishing. The visited towns and the practiced fishing were described and they made possible to visualize the sceneries of sporting Brazilian fishing. The regions were grouped through an analysis of cluster what it made possible to check that the sporting Brazilian fishing has two quite different kinds. An urbane fishing that is carried out by fishermen of great centers who carry out short excursions and a tourist fishing carried out in remote towns that together with the tourism offers the practice of the sporting fishing. The profile of the sporting interviewed fishermen demonstrates that the white public of the sector has schooling lifted up regarding other sectors and can contribute in introduction of politics of management of the sector. The sporting urbane fishing and the tourist one need evaluation and environmental management differentiated. The conflicts of the activity with other users of the hydric resources must be solved when of the introduction of the activity of sporting fishing or management when already existent aiming for the sustainability of the sector.
