Série fontes: reflexões sobre as ideologias presentes nos textos de leitura

It is proposed in this work to analyze the content of Series Fontes books, glimpsing know to what extent their texts contain ideas hygienists movements and eugenics of the early 20th century. Therefore, the texts of the Four Reading books of this series were analyzed, that is, except for the Cartilha, the other books were taken as a source for research. To conduct the survey was adopted as a theoretical and methodological approach, the Dialectical and Historical Materialism. The results showed that the hygienists and eugenic ideological principles make up something bigger was not intended exclusively to Santa Catarina, but the whole country. The nationalist ideal needed to be widespread throughout the territory, in the various towns and villages made up of people of many descents. Besides, it was necessary to model the ideal of Brazilian citizen, be industrious and enterprising for the aggrandizement of the country and preserve harmony so necessary consolidation and dissemination of the established social order. What we found in the Série Fontes line with the national policy speeches, hygienists and eugenics movement of the early twentieth century. The texts heed to what discoursed in the country, thus contributing to the spread of the dominant ideological thoughts and, consequently, to the perpetuation of class structure and capital hegemony.
