Resumo: The target of this dissertation was to promote a lecture of communication and languages used in e-studying in the virtual environment, looking forward to elaborate a reading instrument based in some of the main philosophical concepts of neo-pragmatism, comparing and confronting other theories. The work involved an exploratory search and a case. The bibliographical source presented the fundaments and origins of the neo-pragmatism; cyber virtual environments were conceptually defined in these environments. The chosen object to study was the discipline of Learning Communities and Pedagogical Strategies offered by the course to specialize in Methodologies in e-studying, performed virtually by Unisul Virtual. The data to study the case was searched on-line and presents graphic interface screens of the environment (interactive places) as well as transcription screens with dialogue passages (interactive places). It was discovered that communication is one of the most distinctive characteristics of the virtual environment because the symbolic exchanges between the interlocutors and between them and their machines allow constant resignifying. The e-studying in VEs (Virtual Environments) suppose a learning target changing. It implies a generalized knowledge exchange based on dialogue and search, it demands the participation of the learning community, in the pedagogical process and a changing in the agent’s profile: the teacher becomes a collective institution and the student must take a more active and autonomic stance on. In spite of this, the dialogue and autonomy are an exception proving the rule, generating a paradox to be solved in e-studying in Virtual Environments: in one side the need to name things of the environment, and on the other side the impossibility to name things in dialogues. Studying the case, an effort to solve this paradox was noticed: in spite of the environment present a tendency for industrial manufacturing and serial (because only common materials to all disciplines would present a higher interactivity), the interactions are widely treated and have much importance. The Davidsonian triangle was the principle of the neo-pragmatism that was an instrument to analyze (limiting itself to interactive places and excluding the interactive spaces by the own characteristics of the instrument). Therefore the analysis privileged the communication moments between the agents of Unisul Virtual, i.e. the dialogues that happen using the tools for Chat, Tutor, Monitor, Secretariat, Group and Exhibition. The Chat, Forum and a Blog (external tool used by Unisul Virtual in the discipline) deserve closer attention in the analysis because they present more sequences and continuity in the dialogs.
