Resumo: |
This research project examines the role of children's literature in the intellectual development of children. It reflects on the integration or acceptance of literature according to the child's biological, psychological, and cognitive development and within the Brazilian sociohistorical context. It also investigates how this brand of literature affects readers' thought and language development based on their interaction with Ziraldo's literary texts and considering the author's concern with the child's growing and maturing processes, free of imposed models and valuing each individual and his/her respective differences. These aspects ennoble literary works that appeal to this young public and allows the children to discover themselves and others. The effortlessness with which Ziraldo speaks directly to the imaginary universe of the child is self-evident because he respects the reader's perspective and preserves the reader's space throughout the reading experience. Additionally, he stimulates interest and acts upon intellectual powers, such as the imagination and the aesthetic sense, facilitating the child's development and psychological evolution. |
