Resumo: This work presented a research on the art of the folklore, in special, the Boi de mamão – a reading of the Grupo Folclórico Beco do Beijo of the Tubarão city. The idea of the accomplishment of this research from of the comments and experiences gotten through the presentations of the related Group in the school focused in this researt. It was intended to promote an analysis of this spectacle in relation to the used language. Also, one emphasized the social voices presents in the stage of the life, death and resurrection of the Ox. It was investigated, still, its repercussion in the pertaining to school community that appreciates, this myth, as well as the presentations of the Boi de mamão, even so this is presented increased with different and innovated elements. Although this (of the innovations) aesthetic of announced representation not the cause of form some the presumption deletion of the original myth, because the ritual of the death and resurrection of the Ox continues untouchable; still, of this study of case one perceived that the human personages live in constant rotation and transformation as well as the animals, even so these last ones remain unbroken in its essence, that is, they are not erased of the collective memory; the Group keeps a peculiar form to mount and to represent the Ox, being to create or invent again the legend of the Ox in açoriano style, using a proper language and with this announcing other social voices. It was reflected on the ways that readers/educators to the importance of the culture, experience and use of the myth and folklore in the educative context. It was intention of this work to contribute so that the generations that, now, live deeply the performance of the Ox continue the process of repetition, cult and perpetuation of this myth.
