O trabalho docente de professores de química: evadir, resignar ou persistir?

Resumo: This study aims to understand the docent work developed by chemistry teachers at the last stage of High School in a context marked by evasion, resignation, occupation persistence and the elements that characterizes it. During the research we identified two groups of people with a Chemistry Degree. The first group consisted in teachers who dropped out the classroom and the second by teachers who remain teaching. To achieve the research objective it were used semi structured interviews on graduated students in Chemistry Bachelor's Degree from Southern Santa Catarina University UNISUL. The data were analyzed and compared to most studies, especially the contributions of Oliveira, Mancebo, Soares, Shiroma. The data analysis three contents were revealed: categories: Profile and Working Conditions of chemistry Teachers, Docent Work Intensification, Docent Identity. The research shows that high school teachers, including chemistry, perceive the changes in teaching work from the materialization of educational policies, particularly with regard to the conditions in how the teacher carries out its work. The study suggests that teaching was intensified and had as consequence the evasion of good part of the egresses. The ones who had run away and the ones who been in search of another profession, they do not follow a linear trajectory. The professors, who remain in classroom, live the professions in a distinct way, the ones that they are resigned establish a fragile relation with the teaching work, therefore keep other employment bonds beyond teaching. Related to who persist we perceived an evolvement with teaching, that is expressed in claim for courses of continued formation, better conditions of work, and mainly about hiring procedures and wage, time adjusted for lessons organization, pedagogical didactic support, beyond available resources and didactic materials. Even known about these obstacles taxes to its work they present a strong identity with the teaching work and perceive its importance in the formation of their pupils. The study it suggests that educational politics must be conceived and implemented in order to consider the lack of attractivety and the necessity to keep the licensed professors at public schools. Therefore they must have guarantee substantial improvements about work conditions, remuneration and career. Without an effective valuation of education workers an education with social quality is not glimpsed.
