總結: | The current research is about the assumption that some aspects of the culture has been lost among many indigenous students, as for example, the knowledge that is passed through generations. In relation to this traditional knowledge and the importance of being brought to the classroom, the research problem that aims to respond to the following question emerges: In which way is it possible to value in the science curriculum knowledge about medicinal plants, so it becomes school knowledge and contributes to a more contextualized teaching? This research has as main goal to approach medicinal plants in Elementary School, evaluating its relevance about the esteem of traditional knowledge among students of an indigenous community. The current study is associated to the Educational Practice in Science and Math teaching and develops an educational product with the intention of contributing for a more contextualize Science teaching. For that, a booklet was elaborated to serve as a pedagogical tool to assist teachers in the development of classes about medicinal plants that approach concepts of Science and also related to the environment, medicines, indigenous knowledge and homemade remedy. The didactic material was developed for Elementary students but can also be used to other levels of education. This booklet follows the present dissertation and is entitled as “Medicinal Plants: linking knowledge in Science teaching”. The medicinal plants presented in the booklet are: banana tree, orange tree, Paraná pine, camomile, marigold and citronella. The choice of these six plants occurred through a qualitative research held with students of the final years of Elementary School of a state school in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul. The data collection was in 2019 through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire that was answered by 49 students during Science classes. Due to the development of the booklet being during the context of Covid-19 pandemic, a suggesting of application of the educational product in the form of an extension course for indigenous students of the ninth year of Elementary School was presented. The proposal of the course consists in developing activities related to the contents of Science based on three medicinal plants in the booklet: camomile, marigold and citronella. Hopefully this educational intervention can contribute for the acquisition of this knowledge, once it approaches contents articulated to a theme of the students’ reality. Em relação aos conhecimentos tradicionais e à importância de serem trazidos para as salas de aula, surge o problema de pesquisa que busca responder ao seguinte questionamento: de que maneira é possível valorizar no currículo de Ciências saberes sobre plantas medicinais, para que esses tornem-se saberes escolares e contribuam para um ensino mais contextualizado? Este trabalho tem como objetivo geral abordar as plantas medicinais no Ensino Fundamental, avaliando sua pertinência quanto à valorização dos conhecimentos tradicionais entre os alunos de uma comunidade indígena. O presente trabalho está vinculado à linha de pesquisa Práticas educativas em ensino de Ciências e Matemática e desenvolve um produto educacional com a intenção de contribuir para um ensino de Ciências mais contextualizado. Para isso, foi elaborada uma cartilha, que servirá de instrumento pedagógico para auxiliar os professores no desenvolvimento das aulas sobre plantas medicinais que aborda conceitos/conteúdos específicos de Ciências e também relacionados ao meio ambiente, medicamentos, conhecimentos indígenas e remédios caseiros. O material didático foi desenvolvido para o Ensino Fundamental, mas é possível que seja trabalhado também com outros níveis de ensino. Tal cartilha acompanha a presente dissertação e intitula-se “Plantas Medicinais: interligando saberes no ensino de Ciências”. As plantas medicinais apresentadas na cartilha são: bananeira (banana), laranjeira (laranja), pinheiro-do-paraná (pinhão), camomila, calêndula e citronela. A escolha das seis plantas medicinais ocorreu por meio de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa realizada com alunos indígenas dos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola estadual localizada no interior do Rio Grande do Sul. A coleta dos dados ocorreu em 2019 mediante aplicação de um questionário semiestruturado que foi respondido por 49 estudantes indígenas durante as aulas de Ciências. Em virtude de o desenvolvimento da cartilha ter ocorrido em um contexto de Pandemia de Covid-19, apresenta-se uma sugestão de aplicação do produto educacional na forma de um curso de extensão para alunos indígenas do 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental. A proposta do curso consiste em desenvolver atividades relacionadas aos conteúdos/conceitos de Ciências, que contemplam vários níveis do Ensino Fundamental, com base em três das plantas medicinais contidas na cartilha: camomila, calêndula e citronela. Espera-se que essa intervenção didática venha a contribuir para a aquisição do conhecimento, uma vez que aborda os conteúdos articulados a uma temática da realidade dos estudantes.
