Shrnutí: | This dissertation narrates the history of the Jacundá National Forest, a Sustainable Use Conservation Unit, located between the municipalities of Porto Velho and Candeia do Jamari, in the state of Rondônia. It officially has an area of 220,664.52 hectares, composed of Open Ombrophilous Forest, Dense Ombrophilous Forest, Savanna formations and Pioneer Formations. It is embedded in the main hydrographic basin of Rondônia: the Madeira River. Surrounded by a large variety of canals, lakes and floodplain areas, surrounding the Madeira River and the Jacundá River inland, inspiration for the original name of the FLONA. The research studies the history of creation and maintenance of this Conservation Unit in the period from 1970 to 2022. Having, as a research problem, a central question: How did the historical process of creating the Jacundá National Forest occur? In this context, the objective of the study was to investigate the motivation for the creation of the Jacundá National Forest, as well as, to analyze the environmental policies of an international and national nature, which in fluence the transformation of part of the Jacundá glebe, which has an area of 6667,000 ha, into FLONA of Jacundá, which was created by Federal Decree without number, on December 1, 2004. According to the National System of Nature Conservation Units, the Jacundá National Forest has as basic objectives the multiple use of forest resources and scientific research, with emphasis on sustainable exploitation of native forests. Has in the Sustainable Management Plan, approved by government bidding, implementing in 2014, the alternative solution for maintaining FLONA´S biodiversity for future generations. The research has the perspective of the conceptual references of the Environmental History. Official documents, interviews, laws and digital news subsidize as sources. As regards the methodology, it investigates the historical process of the creation of the Jacundá National Forest, applying Speech Analysis and Oral History. The historical process of the Jacundá National Forest occurred by the following factors: the official policies of the occupation of the Amazon that generate environmental impact, causing disastrous deforestation and international pressure on Brazil, oriented to environmental policies for the protection of biological diversity. |
