Uso farmacológico do canabidiol

Resumo: | Cannabis, popularly known as marijuana, is a plant originated in Asia and has been used for centuries by humanity for multiple purposes, such as food, religious rituals, and medicinal practices. This species is endowed with significant therapeutic potential, despite its known psychotropic properties. In diseases and conditions in which other therapeutic options have been depleted, studies have emerged to prove the efficacy and safety of cannabidiol. The general objective of this work was to develop an integrative review of the scientific literature on the pharmacological use of cannabidiol. Scientific articles were selected in the PUBMED database, using “cannabidiol” as keyword and with a period of 1 year, we only selected randomized and controlled clinical trials. 16 articles were used. The studies carried out in the last year focusing on treating anxiety have not shown strong evidence of efficacy at this moment. Studies available for CBD still lack more evidence to support the efficacy and safety of the proposed treatments. Currently, the most promising results are from using CBD to manage epilepsy and drug addiction. |

Currently, the most promising results are from using CBD to manage epilepsy and drug addiction.A Cannabis, conhecida popularmente como maconha, é uma planta originária da Ásia e que vem sendo utilizada há séculos pela humanidade para múltiplas finalidades tais como na alimentação, em rituais religiosos e em práticas medicinais. Esta espécie é dotada de potencial terapêutico, apesar de suas conhecidas propriedades psicotrópicas. Em doenças e condições em que demais opções terapêuticas se esgotaram o canabidiol (CBD) tem sido considerado como promissor. O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver uma revisão integrativa sobre o uso farmacológico do CBD. Os artigos científicos foram selecionados através de um levantamento na base de dados PUBMED, utilizando o descritor “cannabidiol” e abrangência temporal de 1 ano. Foram filtrados somente ensaios clínicos randomizados e controlados, totalizando 16 artigos. Os estudos disponíveis para o CBD ainda carecem de maiores evidências para sustentar a eficácia e segurança dos tratamentos propostos. No momento, os resultados mais promissores são do uso do CBD para manejo de epilepsias e toxicodependência.
