Sumari: | The Brazilian prison system is marked by historical vulnerabilities, making education in prison a central theme for social reintegration and the guarantee of fundamental human rights. This article aims to analyze how education in the prison system contributes to transforming the lives of incarcerated individuals and to indicate strategies to strengthen access to this right. The qualitative research used an exploratory approach and a bibliographic focus, based on scientific articles published between 2024 and 2025, collected via Google Scholar. The sources were analyzed based on themes that addressed the meanings attributed to education in the penitentiary system, its impacts on individuals' trajectories, and the challenges of implementing educational policies. Preliminary results indicate that, despite contradictions and the absence of adequate educational policies that generate exclusion, socio-education is a vital instrument for human transformation, restoring dignity, and strengthening citizenship within the prison context. It is concluded that education in prison, while facing structural and political challenges, transcends the mere serving of a sentence, being essential and an indispensable ethical commitment for the reconstruction of life projects and social reintegration. |
