Riassunto: Metabolic syndrome is characterized by central/abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia and systemic arterial hypertension. Its prevalence increases due to the population's sedentary lifestyle and obesity, especially among the elderly. The regular practice of physical exercises with the use of exergames is an indicated alternative to reduce the decline of aging and its consequences. Exergames are active video games that require interaction through body movements. In this sense, this dissertation sought to evaluate the cardiovascular responses in elderly people with metabolic syndrome when playing exergames. In order to do so, the following variables were defined as the specific cardiovascular goals: peak oxygen volume, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and double product before and after exergaments and regular exercise. A pilot study in which eight elderly women with metabolic syndrome participated in the coexistence group of the Municipal Coordination of Elderly Care of the Municipality of Passo Fundo. The older women were divided into two groups: exergameers, who undertook training with the use of Xbox 360 with Kinect and those who maintained regular physical exercises already practiced. The intervention time was twelve weeks, twice a week and a 48-hour interval between them. Each session lasted 50 minutes. Data were collected using an Imbramed ATL 10000 treadmill with ramp protocol and analysis of expired open circuit gases - Ergo PC Elite VO 2000 software. The data were analyzed using the R 3.2.2 language using the Mann tests -Whitney and Wilcoxon with significance level to reject H0 of p ≤ 0.05. The use of exergame was promising in maintenance and cardiovascular improvement. All the results are presented and discussed in Production 1 of this dissertation, which also has a literature review.
