要約: The municipality is part of Brazilian history in all government periods that have existed. During the period known as the colony, the municipality was addressed as one of the points regarding colonization. Allocating plots of land on the coast to grantees who would be able to manage them without the Portuguese Crown bearing the responsibility of financing the expenses involved, thus protecting the lands from possible invasions and maintaining Portuguese dominance over them. Even with this new need for colonization addressed by the Portuguese Crown and the idea that the original peoples here did not have a civilization remained, these grantees sought to implement here the system of municipalism that they would inherit from the Roman Empire. During the period understood as empire, Brazilian municipalities underwent other transformations. During this period, the first Brazilian Constitution would be approved, which should, in its legislation, debate more widely how the creation of municipalities would occur.
